INFINITY JSA - O-Yoroi Pilot Bootleg Conversion

Image
O-Yoroi Pilot Bootleg ConversionSo this long gestating project finally came into fruition. It took a couple of weeks of painting to finish and was quite a task indeed to get done. Paining white is so slow to do, but all the added detail was very time consuming also.  The freehand took half a day and the battle damage another half.  The pilot herself took a couple of sessions also and was tricky to get done due to her legs being in the way of a lot of detail. Overall there were so many nooks and crannies to paint that were hard to get too.  One trick I used was to paint the tail as a sub-assembly, which I try to avoid as much as possible because gluing things back together always results in nicks and scratches here and there, which thankfully could be hidden with a bit of battle damage.I chose colours to match my Konoe JSA army and am happy to have this miniature as a centerpiece, finally. I left the lights off since the TAG is in a powered down state. I also didn't paint much OSL …

INFINITY PANOCEANIA: Operation Icestorm Battle Pack

Image
So I never really planned to do Pano, but then I got the battle pack as it was going out of production (plus the expansion).  I gotta say I really liked how these guys turned out and enjoyed painting the green/blue even though there is a lot of mixing the base colour which is not practical.  You could choose a fairly equivalent blue and not mix colours but I wanted to take on a challenge, plus I'm in no hurry to paint hundreds of models for this faction.  One day when the borders open I'll finally get my base toppers posted and finish them... one day.  Half the year gon and I managed to do three factions, which is pretty good for a slow painter.

INFINITY PANOCEANIA MILITARY ORDERS: Father Knight

Image
Father Knight So the final guy in the Ice Storm set is done.  I was going to do big black crosses on the shoulders but changed my mind as I liked the shadow on the white a lot so I ended up doing the traditional iconography.  The freehand Father Night cross was too small to do properly so is a bit of a blob. But the Pano emblem turned out ok.  Im most happy with the OSL though and it seems to sell the glowing sword quite well. I just hope I get the base toppers sent someday when this pandemic finally ends so I can finish him and his compatriots!

INFINITY PANOCEANIA ACONTECIMENTO : Akalis Sikh Commando (Combi Rifle)

Image
Akalis Sikh Commando (Combi Rifle) So I wasn't sure how I could fit green into the palette as it is a bit difficult to pull off well with blue so this guy posed a bit of a problem for me in terms of colour selection.  So I chose a black helm with green stripes.  He turned out OK in the end and I quite enjoyed painting the jump pack despite my initial reservations about the model.  I also realised that in the end it would be quite fun to do all Pano sectorials one day with their main accent colours that distinguish them from the different Pano worlds Red (Neoterra), White (Svalarheima), Green (Acontecimento) and Turquoise (Varuna)... I believe.

INFINITY PANOCEANIA VARUNA: Orc (Multi Rifle)

Image
Orc (Multi Rifle) So since I'm Australian I decided to make Veruna my main sectorial because there is a bit of Aussie written into their fluff.  Thou I gotta say that I really like the way the black and skull face accent colours go with the Pano blue.  This guy was became my absolute favorite in the set, after I had added all the little details.  Hope to do a bunch of other Orcs someday as they have become my favorite Pano troop type after this guy (Donno why people don't like Orcs and don't care).

INFINITY PANOCEANIA SVALARHEIMA: Nisse (Multi Sniper Rifle)

Image
Nisse (Multi Sniper Rifle) This guy was probably one of my favorites to paint in the Pano battleforce. I was fairly comfortable with the blue now and it was a breeze to do. The coat took ages but I'm happy with the textures. Question is should I add snow or not to the base?...

INFINITY JSA: O-Yoroi Pilot Bootleg Conversion Guide

Image
Bootleg O-Yoroi Pilot Conversion Guide It's been a long time since I worked on my favorite army, JSA! The Bootleg O-Yoroi Pilot is one of my all time favourite Infinity models.  It is pure cheesecake mecha, both sexy and deadly.  A lovely model to be sure and one of the reasons I wanted to collect both JSA and Infinity.  However I was too exhausted after modeling and painting my first O-Yoroi to have a go at it in the past, especially trying to convert it like the wonderful Senior Giladez's version that we are all familiar with.  A couple of years later, an additional army or two, plus a global pandemic as well as the model going out of production sending me into a panic buy (again!) meant that it was finally time to give this model conversion a crack.

Whilst I did not do anything amazingly different from the masterclass version by Giladez, since the pose of the model does not allow for too much variation, I did want to put together a guide for others on how to do this conver…
