INFINITY JSA: Miyamoto Musashi

INFINITY JSA Myamoto Musashi - two versions - Front View

MIYAMOTO MUSASHI

This legendary swordsman deserved some extra attention. I studied a number of Japanese fabric prints in order to come up with nice designs on his robes.  Corvus Belli's Mushashi's colours, it seems are based on historical depictions of the original Miyamoto Musashi. So I adopted a very similar pallette but added a little artistic flourish to the robes. The Aristeia version has a Summer day pattern. The travelling ronin version has an Autumn night pattern.  Pleasure to paint these models and fun to research. I even watched the Samurai Trilogy, which, although a little dated and melodramatic, is enjoyable thanks to the charismatic Toshiro Mifune and worth checking out if you are a cinephile.
