Aliens: Another Glorious Day in the Corps - Heroes

Aliens: Another Glorious Day in the Corps - Marines
"Is this gonna be a standup fight, sir, or another bug hunt?"

I got this game a while back because I'm a huge fan of Aliens and I have always wanted to paint Aliens miniatures since I was a kid but could not afford the Leading Edge metal miniatures that came out in the 80's.  Fast Forward to 2020 and Gale Force Nine released AGDITC and I finally had a set to work with.  These plastic miniatures are not the most detailed out there but they, capture the likeness of the film characters quite well (particularly the civilians).

I spent the last month or so getting the Heroes all done and spent many hours studying lots of photos and costumes from the film to get them as screen accurate as I possibly could (plus watched a lot of making of films and cast interviews which was fun).  One thing that was tricky to get right were the colours because the film was mostly shot in a blue light but the props look quite different under warm light.  In the end I took artistic license and just tried to match the film as best I could.

It was a pretty satisfying project to research and paint.  I even customised the cables on the power loader and got my hands on some bootleg pilot minis to round out the cast. I only wish I could get my hands on a dropship model in 28mm scale but haven't found any yet. Now I will have to paint the Aliens to complete the set.
